Artificial Intelligence is profoundly transforming art, culture, and social processes. The foundation “&ai – Ethical Artificial Intelligence” (in formation) arises from the conviction that technological innovation and artistic practice can enrich one another when used responsibly.

The name &ai” refers to this interplay: the symbol “&” represents connection and expansion, while simultaneously evoking the Latin origin “et” as an abbreviation for “ethical.”

Who we support

The purpose of the foundation is to promote public awareness for the ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in art and culture, with a particular focus on music. To this end, the foundation supports artistic, scientific, and educational projects, as well as individuals who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to this cause.

We aim to facilitate a vibrant discourse and provide targeted funding for projects that weigh the opportunities and risks of AI, utilizing its potential in both innovative and responsible ways. A primary emphasis is placed on projects that do not merely develop or apply AI, but also actively foster social awareness regarding its responsible use.

The following four main categories serve as a guide:

Impact of and Engagement with AI

Projects that investigate the impact of AI in music and art on society, artists, and audience reception, or that develop frameworks and guidelines for its use.

Analytical Use of AI

Projects where AI is employed responsibly to analyze music or other artistic works.

AI as Support

Projects in which AI is used to foster the acquisition of musical and artistic skills or to facilitate musical practice without interfering with the creative process.

Conscious Use of AI in the Creative Process

Artistic projects in which AI is actively integrated into the creative process in a responsible and reflective manner.
